Reflection on Learning Community

The most successful skills I've had was working in groups when we did our work in the Evergreen. When we did that, it made it easier to workout any problems we had and had more support to answer the problems. One assignment I found difficullt was the Double Deuce assignments. When we first was assigned to read the first chapters, i read them. But then we had a quiz on the whole book and I didn't know we had to read the whole book. Also for the essay, it was kind of hard for me to annotate information. I thought that we should of had more practice on that and more time to do more assignment during class.

My Environment Being Toxic

A toxic enviroment has something to do with food being everywhere. For example, Mc Donalds, Wendys, KFC, etc are known to be have a chain of restaurants that can easily accessed by anyone. Ways my life are toxic are that I rely on Car transportation more than walking to work, because at first I used to walk to work seeing that its down the street from me. Also even though I have food at home, I seem to always go out to eat with my friends after work and then my dad would say I should save my money. Another way its toxic is I dont get enough exercise, only when I'm walking during work, but thats not enough for a daily workout.

My eating expeience (Saturday)

Well it was a Saturday morning, theres usually nothing in the house to eat. So I was lucky to find one cup of Easy Mac to eat before i went to work. I love it very much, the chesse tasted great even though it was very hot, but it managed to full me up the whole day. Then after work, i had ordered a chicken ceasar salad, to be honest, it was alright, except i tasted onions in it, which kindof ruined the taste for me. Then finally, i had McDOnalds. A large number 10 and and extra Large fry and a McFlurry, seeing that i eat the same thing every Saturday night, im used to the great taste of the fries, and drikning sum refreshing Hi-C orange to kill my thirst after work, after eating all that, the McNuggets were the best for last, I can never get tired of them lol.

Double Deuce Representation of the Characters

The characters from Double Duece, Spenser and Hawk are better represented from the book then the TV show because it gives more in depth detail. The first reason I believe that the book is better because it describes more detail than a TV show would. For example, in almost every scene in the book, Spenser talks about how the environment reacts around him and how he makes it descriptive. Like when he mentions in scene how the rain made Hawk's dark green Jaguar look black as it beaded out and got in his car.(Page 137) Another reason is that in this story, Spenser is also able to mention how someone else is feeling during a suspensefull moment. For example, Spenser talks about how Hawks motives are and what type of guy he is. Like in chapter 41 where they face off against Major in the stadium, Spenser describes how Hawk was relaxed and knew he wanted to kill Major.(Page 204) A final reason why the book is better is because it also gives descriptive detail about the love feelings that occured during the story. For example, the story also talks about the relationship between Spenser and Susan was getting serious. In chapter 31, Spenser talks about how he enjoyed listening to Susan on the phone. He thought it was an interesting perfomace that made him love her more (Page 149). These reasons demonstrate how the book can represent the characters deeply in detail and still keep the reader intrested in the story.

Double Duece First Person

I was in a cubicle at the Department of Youth Services, talking to a DYS caseworker named Hawk. He was a muscular man with low cut haircut and was well dressed with his clothes nicely pressed. His fully groomed beard was black and his eyes were brown. He wore black dress pants and a white shirt with a navy blue tie. "John Porter is his real name", he said. He had a huge folder open on his desk. "It sounds like a street handle but it's not. His given name is John Porter. In his first twenty years he was arrested fouty times." "When he turned twenty-one he went off the list?" I said. "He's no longer a juvenile," he said. "After that you'll have to see his probation officier or the youth gang at BPD."

16 and Pregnant

16 and Pregnant shows how it can be challanging for a typical teenager to raise a child during their time in high school. The aspects of this show are how Chelsea has to deal with a premature child and her relationship with her boyfriend. They have go through tough times where they figure out who will watch the child, which can be hard if you're attending school and have a social life.

Helicopter Inventor: Paul E. Williams

Paul E. Williams is the inventor of the Helicopter. It was created in 1964. Helicopters have a huge effect on popular culture. They serve as transportation for certain celebrities when appearing at a award show. For eample, when R&B singer Rihanna arrived by helicopter at the Hamptons. Also another example is, in certain movies actors also known as celebrities, use helicopters in certain scenes that include action. Finally, people use helicopters to view celebrity homes and famous areas on helicopter tours. There are many uses for the helicopter that made it a unique way of travel in the air.

Real World DC Review

I thought the show was very entertaining and shows how certain strangers can get along when having a good time. The Real World can also show how even when theres drama, theres always a way to fix it in the end. For example, the was a scene where one of the roomates has romatic feelings for one of his roomates. But she doesn't want to fall in love for someone who is immature and she didn't plan on hooking up with anyone. So they talk to each other to see how they feel about each other and seem to be just close friends at the moment. The roomates seem to live as one family and try to solve issues, even if they aren't able to fix them. Anyone can learn sometime of lesson from this show when it comes to living with others or socializing with friends. Heres a tag line from the show that I find intersting, "And Start Getting Real", that makes me think that even when your living with strangers, you should act real and not fake.

How real TV is to me?

To me, TV can seem real in many ways. There can be a time where you're so into a show, that you feel like your apart of it. Also when you see certain reality shows, they can make you think about your own life and how you can better yourself in the future. For example, theres this new show called the buried life. Sadly i've only seen two episodes so far since my cable got cut off but anyways. The show is these four guys that try to accomplish 100 goals because they want there life to seem like it has purpose. So for everything to on there list, they help a stranger on reaching their goal in life. There was this one episode where this girl lost her mother to Huricane Katrina. So the guys decided to locate the girl's mother's burial site and take her to say her final goodbye. After seeing that episode made shed some tears. That show demostrates how some shows can be on TV, but can have a possitive effect on someones life.

But there are other reality shows that can be fake as in being not realistic. Like the show Flavor of Love. The show was about the old school rapper Flavor Flav from the Hip Hop duo Public Enemy, who was looking for love. There were three seasons to this show, that told me that this show is just for entertainment and not for true love. Because at the end he ends up with none of the girls he dated on the show or who even won the show. He ends up with one of his baby mama's and knew that he should been with her from the begining.

Rebirth Freewriting

I disagree with the reviewer's opinion because, Lil Wayne is using new sounds with his music. Most of his songs have a Rock and Roll beat. Each song seems to tell a unique story that either has suspenece or excitement. The songs also seem to have a certain amount of bass, which is something I love in Hip-Hop music. This album shows how he can think outside the box and please any Lil Wayne fan out there, including me.

Kid CUdi: Pursuit of Happiness (Nightmare)

Crush a bit, little bit, roll it up, take a hit. Feelin’ lit, feelin’ light, 2 am summer night. I don't care, hand on the wheel, drivin drunk, I'm doin’ my thing. Rollin the Midwest side and out livin’ my life getting’ out dreams. People told me slow my road I'm screaming out f**k that. Imma do just what I want, lookin’ ahead no turnin’ back. If I fall, if I die, know I lived it to the fullest.
If I fall, if I die know, I lived and missed some bullets. I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know, everything that shine ain't always gonna be gold. I'll be fine once I get it, I'll be good.

Tell me what you know about dreamin’, dreamin’. You don't really know about nothin’ nothin. Tell me what you know about them night terrors every night. 5 am, cold sweats wakin’ up to the skies. Tell me what you know about dreams, dreams.
Tell me what you know about night terrors, nothin’. You don't really care about the trials of tomorrow. Rather lay awake in a bed full of sorrow. I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know, everything that shines ain't always gonna be gold. I'll be fine once I get it, I'll be good.

I'm on the pursuit of happiness, I know everything that shines ain't always gold.
I'll be fine once I get it, I'll be good. I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know, everything that shines ain't always gonna be gold, hey
I'll be fine once I get it, yeah, I'll be good

I'm on the pursuit of happiness. And I know everything that shines ain't always gonna be gold, hey. I'll be fine once I get it, yeah.
I'll be good.

Famliy Guy

There was a time where it was late at nite, where I was watching an episode of one of my favorite shows, Family Guy. The episode was about how Peter was teaching his daughter Meg how to drive and wasn't paying attention to the road. Therefore crashing into the towns satilite dish, disrupting the signal. Peter was upset, he felt like he was going to die without television. At this point I'm laughing like crazy knowing Peter is going to do something crazy that will embarass himself. So then he makes a cardboard TV screen and attaches it to the front of his chest. That told me that he was insane and really is obsessed with TV, and would do anything to entertain himself. As I thought it couldnt get any worse for Peter, his family decides to involve him in more family activities. So they go the park, fish, and play basketball. In one scene, Peter is shaking a red pinic blanket and out of no where, a bull charges at him. I was saying to myslef that was very random but also funny and made some sense that it happened. Then all of a sudden, the cable comes back on. Peter was so caught up in family activities that he didnt want to stop. But the family was exhausted. So Peter decides to go out on his own with William Shatner. As they hang out together, they are having a good time. Then Meg and her mom Louis, go out and practice driving, but in a heavy rain storm. Then Louis hits William Shatner. Then after they killed him, Peter realized his passion for tv and returns home to his family.
